Global Teal Meet-up for the Americas: Teal Takeovers

Members of the Baby Boomer generation own 2.9 million businesses. Many are struggling to find buyers to take over their companies. Solving this problem in a Teal way presents a unique opportunity to do good by doing well for retiring business owners, employees, and communities.

Come learn from the CEO of Obran.coop, a 450 person company that has acquired 6 companies and is giving all workers a direct say in how the company is managed. Obran are taking the concept of democracy at work and putting their money where their mouth is. They are on the hunt to buy and transform small businesses to something that is better for all. And they believe they can make it profitable for themselves, their investors, employees, current business owners, and the communities these businesses operate in.

CoOps and Teal have very similar beliefs, such as democratic member control, members’ economic participation, and autonomy and independence. It’s no surprise that the economic impact is striking.

Joseph will share the behind the scenes on how these takeovers are happening and what they promise. Joseph will be interviewed by Travis Marsh, a Teal Team member well-versed in efforts to purchase small businesses and transform them into human-centered organizations.

The event is finished.
